My Morning Paper – April 25, 2017 – A Scathing Indictment

“If this government of the PLP could have so much scandals in one term, can you imagine what would happen they get another term?

If having caught some of them with their hands in the cookie jar; you send them back to office; can you imagine what would happen to the cookie jar?”

The Rt. Hon. Hubert Ingraham

An ominous warning that was not heeded by the people of The Commonwealth of The Bahamas for whatever reason; the Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) was re-elected and here we stand today.

Smith criticizes actions of both Fitzgerald and Maynard-Gibson” – The Tribune

Excerpt from this article; “Former Cabinet minister George Smith said Jerome Fitzgerald’s solicitation of Sarkis Izmirlian for Baha Mar contracts shows the extent to which this country has allowed the ‘bastardisation of the Westminster system’ to take place.

Mr. Smith, who considers himself an admirer of Mr. Fitzgerald, said he is conflicted in the face of the news of Mr. Fitzgerald’s actions because while the Education Minister’s desire to ‘assist his father’ might have been noble, there are clear Cabinet procedures that guide ministers of government.”

The say the road to hell is paved with good intentions and one must weigh the good intentions of Minister Fitzgerald against the fact that he also stood to personally profit substantially had these contracts actually materialized along with his father, along with the fact that he violated the oath that he swore to uphold when sworn in as a government official.

Many will question former Progressive Liberal Party Cabinet minister, George Smith’s moral authority to criticize the actions of Minister Fitzgerald and they may have all right to, I would just say that George Smith criticism is quite a scathing indictment within itself but is likely to be glossed over by the Progressive Liberal Party government, as they continue to release information of wrong-doing by members of the Free National Movement (FNM) even from 2011, to draw attention from the current wrong-doings of a government which has been plagued with controversy and wrong doing from May 8th of 2012.

In the mean time, Prime Minister Perry Christie remains silent on the entire matter as he claims to reporters that he does not run away from any issue.

The Progressive Liberal Party fails for one reason, it is their nature.
