My Morning Paper 6th June 6, 2021 – A Failed Opposition Ploy

Cooper: This is a failed budget” – The Nassau Guardian.

Excerpt from this article; Pointing to the government’s recently announced tax breaks and employment and revenue initiatives, Progressive Liberal Party Deputy Leader Chester Cooper yesterday called the Minnis administration 2021/2020 annual budget a failure.

The government’s debt level is expected to rise to $10.4 billion in 2021/2022 and the deficit is projected to reach $951.8 million after another round of borrowing of $1.8 billion after

Contributing to debate in the lower chamber, Cooper said the government squandered the opportunity to press the reset button and chart a new course for the country.”

What “new course” Chester? Now I am seeing why certain factions within the PLP say that you should not be listened to.

It is my opinion that nothing that Chester Cooper or any other PLP has to say about this budget communication can be taken seriously because of two factors; one being the Progressive Liberal Party’s performance when it comes to the economy and two being that the one of the main points that the PLP tries to sell in its last economic plan is that, the PLP could have managed the finances of the country better without borrowing but the first point shows the second fact to be complete and utter nonsense.

Like I have said, nothing that the PLP says concerning this budget can be taken seriously.

The Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) first fired up its base by telling them that the Free National Movement (FNM) government should not be allowed to use Hurricane Dorian and the COVID-19 pandemic as ‘excuses’ as to why the economy is in  a poor condition at this time but there are things that they have neglected to tell you.

They neglected to tell you that after introducing Value-Added Tax (VAT) and bragging on how well it was performing that the economy was downgraded a minimum of four times under much better economic conditions.  They went on to blame all of these downgrades on excessive borrowing by the previous FNM administration during a recession and a hurricane.

But a minimum of four economic downgrades under much better economic circumstances?

To me this sounds like laziness and ineptitude, but yet these are the same people that claim to now have all the economic answers.

They also neglected to tell you that before Hurricane Dorian and the pandemic a few key things that had began to happen; the economy was upgraded to stable, the LPIA spoke of a first ever profit; the hotels were saying that this was the best that they has seen in over ten years, the deficit was lowered, along with the rate of borrowing

So now the Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) attempts to downplay the effect of Hurricane Dorian and a global pandemic on the economy of The Bahamas, suggesting that if they were in power they could have navigated these trying economic times much more effectively and suggesting that these event are not reason enough for poor performance of the economy at this time, but the record of their past performance proves this to be nonsense and lies.

So we can see that the new, new, new [new] PLP’s new strategy is based deep in lies and hypocrisy, which most of their fervent supporters seem too happy to subscribe to .They will now focus on the pain and suffering of the average Bahamians as a political ploy to win an election, all while not offering the country any real and plausible relief and already have proven that if they were in power our economic situation would be much worst, all except the liquor stores.

The Progressive Liberal Party fails for one reason, it is their nature.

My Morning Paper – April 18, 2022- At First You Must Make Sense

While Grand Bahama was too concerned with aliens’ landings it would appear that the leader of the opposition Progressive Liberal Party (PLP), the “Hon.” Philip ‘Brave’ Davis, was busy opposing for opposing sake, even if it meant at the lives of Bahamian citizens.

This is exactly what I have been telling you that the leader of the opposition has been doing throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.   He now seeks to convince us that the recent rise in the COVID-19 cases concerns him but why should anyone believe a word that he has to say when his past actions contradict this very “concern”?

Let us begin here.

“PLP Can’t Support Lockdown Extension, Says Davis” The Tribune, May 29, 2020.

Excerpt from this article; “PROGRESSIVE Liberal Party Philip ‘Brave’ Davis said he cannot support the governments extension of the COVID-19 state of emergency in its current form.

Giving a contribution as the House of Assembly debated a resolution extending the state of emergency to June 29, Mr. Davis called for widespread COVID-19 testing while arguing there was no ‘clear rationale’ for continuing weekends lock downs.”

Here we have the leader of the opposition asking for the rationale behind the protocols put in place to aid in the slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus, suggesting that the lockdowns were not achieving this objective and only led to the hardship of families that were unable to pay bills and were slipping into poverty.

Here Davis was asking for the country to choose health or wealth, this could indeed be a very difficult choice but Mr. Davis approach simply made no sense in the fight to slow the spread of the virus.

Let me show you why. We have come to a point where the numbers were slowed and there is an attempt to open the country, as the leader of the opposition asked and now we still have a problem.

”Davis: I am deeply concerned about increase in COVID cases” – The Nassau Guardian.

Excerpt from this article; “Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) Leader Philip Brave Davis said yesterday that he is ‘deeply concerned’ about the recent rise in COVID-19 cases in The Bahamas and what appears to be a lack of action to stem the flow.

There has been 392 new COVID-19 cases in April already, a total that has already surpassed the number of case reported in January and February, respectively.

Health officials warned of a potential third wave in parts of the country.”

I have one question for the leader of the opposition, logically what did you really expect as the country was opened up so that people could go out and earn a living?

Did you, Mr. Opposition Leader, not expect a rise as the people relaxed their guard?

The logical thing to do would have been to encourage the people to continue to follow COVID-19 safety protocols so that the numbers did not sky-rocket, because this disease will be with us for a while – not to fake concern.

As the leader of the opposition says the “country cannot afford five more years of FNM” and as Davis urges Bahamians not to trust Minnis again”, it seems that it would be in our best interest to not trust in Davis, at all because he for a man that wants to be prime minister; he really has to at least make sense first.

The Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) fails for one reason, it is their nature.

My Morning Paper 20th March 2021 – The Naked Truth

There is a curious story being told about The Truth and The Lie.  It tells of how The Lie coerced The Truth into taking a swim with it but only  as a ruse to steal the ‘clothes’ of The Truth, leaving The Truth in the water without any clothes, because upon coming out ‘naked’ persons saw the naked Truth and shied away from it.  This making The Truth to return to the water forever and leaving The Lie to “dress up” as The Truth, thereby making people more comfortable with a “Lie”. This is what the Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) would like to pull off leading into the next general election.

Now we have Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) senator, seeming to think that she is safe from the allegations of her involvement in a sketchy oil drilling deal pop up from the “rabbit hole” in Gambier House, where she has been in hiding in with an attempt to create political mischief – probably at the direction of the same person under whose employ she got involved in this “shady” oil deal in the first place.

“PLP senator, SLAMS FNM for not giving fellow Senators NOD to RUN”

Excerpt from this article; “A CRYING SHAME: PLP senator ‘disheartened by ‘some FNM senators failed to receive nominations.

Senator JoBeth Coleby-Davis yesterday expressed disappointment and defended Free National Movement (FNM) senators who were ‘passed over’ for seat nominations in the upcoming General Elections.”

Question: Was the “good” senator still down the ‘rabbit hole” in hiding, when the leadership of the Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) ‘screwed” the Hon. Picewell Forbes, the PLP member of parliament for South Andros over and the proceed to lie about it?

Where was her “disappointment” as she defended him?

Oh yeah she didn’t.

“Davis: Forbes seat was never in doubt – Leader said South Andros MP had party’s support for another run.” – The Nassau Guardian – March 3rd 2021.

Excerpt from this article; “Although Mangrove Cay and South Andros MP Picewell Forbes told reporters that his decision not to run in the next election was due to uncertainty over his renomination and lack of support on the ground from the leadership of the Progressive Liberal Party (PLP), PLP Leader Philip Brave Davis said yesterday that Forbes’ nomination was ‘never in doubt.’

Insofar as the public is concerned, and what I had indicated to the public and to him, his nomination was never in doubt ; that the incumbents would be renominated subject to the incumbent wishing to continue,’ Davis said.

So, Mr. Leader of the Opposition, why were there at least two other persons from the Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) actively campaigning in South Andros?

Who gave them the idea that this would be the right thing to do with a sitting member of parliament whose “spot was never in doubt”?

Could this just be extremely poor leadership?

So either, Mr. Davis did not have the guts/leadership skills to tell the incumbent that he was not going to be renominated or just lacks the ability to control the others that had come to believe that the constituency was “fair game”?

But just why would they even believe that the South Andros constituency has suddenly become ‘fair game’?

So here we have a Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) senator trying to show fake concern for Free National Movement (FNM) senators, when she was unable to muster even a shred of real concern for one of her very own.

Here we have a Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) senator, now a candidate in the next general election, becoming a part of another extensive lie, seemingly instigated at the behest of the leader of the opposition.

The Progressive Party fails for one reason, it is their nature.

My Morning Paper – February 26, 2021 – The Yellow Soap-Box

“NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) and Democratic National Alliance (DNA) are calling on Prime Minister Dr. Hubert Minnis to clarify the reason Seabreeze MP Lanisha Rolle resigned from her Cabinet position.

The Cabinet office confirmed the prime minister acceptance of Rolle’s resignation letter as minister of Youth, Sports and Culture, indicating certain matters brought to his attention are currently ‘under investigation’.

In a statement on the matter, PLP Chairman Fred Mitchell insisted Minnis must ‘move quickly to clarify and come clean about widespread claims across social media’ in order to avoid bringing his entire government into further dispute.”

It is indeed very interesting that now the Chairman of the PLP would seek quick clarification after the Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) social media propaganda machine “broke” the story on social media the night before Mrs. Rolle’s resignation creating the “widespread claims” that the chairman of the PLP now wishes clarification on.  These “widespread claims” suggesting that Mrs. Rolle was a thief; tried and convicted without a scintilla of proof – only open allegations, speculations and lies.

What I also find curious about this situation is the manner in which just days before the leader of the opposition; Philip ‘Brave’ Davis, had pulled out his trusty ‘yellow soap-box’, climbed onto it and accused the Free National Movement (FNM) of using social media to spread lies and propaganda against the Progressive Liberal Party (PLP), thereby attempting to set himself and his party as “innocent victims”.

“PLP Leader says FNM running a ‘garbage juice campaign” – The Nassau Guardian

Excerpt from this article; “As ne accused the Free National Movement (FNM) of engaging in a ‘garbage juice’ campaign, Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) Leader Philip Brave Davis yesterday raised concerns over the role Facebook is playing in The Bahamas’ democracy.” But sir, it is quite clear that the Progressive Liberal Party (PLP), the party that you lead is quite apt in the “game’ of running “garbage juice campaigns” using social media; this was seen in the manner in which they had her tried and convicted for tiefin’ without a scintilla of evidence.

What I find more amazing, as Davis cries foul from his yellow “soap box”, is that he would state so emphatically; we have identified 11 fake Facebook groups, running paid, active, anti-PLP advertising campaigns from their page.”   How does Mr. Davis know that some of these pages are not being sponsored and ran by persons in his very own organization, persons that do not see him as leadership material?

Is Mr. Davis suggesting that it is impossible for any anti-PLP pages to be ran by disgruntle PLP supporters and maybe their executives?

Is Mr., Davis suggesting that at this time all members of the Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) supporters and executives want him as leader?

Two things Mr. Davis must be very careful of at this point as he continuous his duplicitous campaign.

One, ne needs to be very careful of putting statement out there that he cannot walk back and; two, remember if you are going to say one thing but do the complete opposite – the persons that you may be trying to ‘attack’ may be quite capable of beating you at your own “game”

The Progressive Liberal Party fails for one reason, it is within their nature.

My Morning Paper – February 02, 2021 – Men Having Honor

“Calls for the DPM to Resign – Davis insist PM has a duty to act against Turnquest”” – The Nassau Guardian

Excerpt from this article; “There are calls in opposition circles for Deputy Prime Minister Peter Turnquest to resign from Cabinets over accusations made against him by two companies alleging his involvement in a reported $20 million-plus scheme.

Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) Leader Philip Brave Davis said in a statement on Friday, Prime Minister Dr. Hubert Minnis has a duty to act ‘when a minister does not do the ‘honorable thing’.

My question now is; aren’t the executives of the Progressive Liberal party (PLP) duty bond to act when one of theirs; in this case its leader, does not do the honorable thing?

While we have the leader of the opposition demanding that the prime minister do the “honorable thing”, we have Philip ‘Brave’ Davis, claiming to be a man of honor and not even attempting to answer accusations made against him in the Peter Nygard lawsuit, where he is accused of receiving bribes.

Under the subheading,

3. NYGARD has significant Power and influence in The Bahamas, resulting from his chronic Bribery and Bahamian Political contributions (page 40); item #125, (page 45), states; “Nygard was also close to Philip “Brave” Davis (“Davis”) and regularly met with him and paid bribes to him and his political aides,”

To date, the leader of the opposition has not addressed these accusation other than to label them as “FNM mischief”, which in itself is ridiculous.

Why does he not feel the need to address these allegations made against him in a lawsuit against a man being accused of sex trafficking of minors and even ‘sex slavery”?

The manner in which the leader of the opposition would call for the resignation of the deputy prime minister over accusations but himself would refuse to step down over accusations, within itself is hypocritical and duplicitous; if we are going to follow the standard set by the Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) itself.

The opposition Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) seems to be giving us a preview of how they would govern with Philip ‘Brave’ Davis as leader; with an extremely jaundiced view of the application of the laws of The Bahamas, oddly it does not seem to be that much different than the way that the ‘old’ PLP governed.

And at this point is Philip ‘Brave’ Davis only proving to us that he is a man lacking honor?

The Progressive Liberal Party fails for one reason, it is within their nature.

My Morning Paper – January 01, 2021 – The Warning

In 2020 we have had an opposition on the run.  I say this because even due to all of the alleged short comings of the governing Free National Movement (FNM) government, this opposition has been unable to capitalize of these ‘failings’ and has been  forced to resort to lies and propograbda in order to try to discredit the government.

The trolls/crumb snatchers of the Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) have already done them more disservice then anyone could possibly imagine.  They are nothing more than a fringe group that seem scared to speak but also feeling compelled to speak because they are scared; which has resulted in some of the most nonsensical bullshit and nonsense to date,  hopefully they got their money upfront.

Brave be brave and fire them!!!

So now we have entered 2021 have two things we know for sure, being confirmed last year;

  1. The PLP was a ‘train wreck’ under the leadership of the “Hon.” Perry Christie and,
  2. The PLP is proving to be nothing more than a ‘shit-show’ under the leadership of the “Hon.” Philip ‘Brave’ Davis.

The Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) has successfully up to this point, been able to spin their lies and propaganda and have the public believe them but then at some point you must realize that it is yourself, the Free National Movement (FNM) government/party that has allowed this to happen.

The Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) is a desperate political organization with a diminishing base, because as much as people say that they have lost confidence in the prime minister and the FNM, they do not see Davis as a viable option to run the country.

Then who is to blame for the people losing faith in the prime minister?

Could it be his very own party?

Let me say, you can do all the good in the world but if a person can spin your good works as wrong, and you seem unable to defend yourself, then you will perceived as a failure.

The Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) has began the new year on an attack; as has been displayed in the infantile ramblings of the chairman of the PLP; Senator Fred Mitchell.  What is totally laughable is that the good chairman believes that he is gaining ground though this silly insults because the chairman of the FNM does not follow him up.    What the chairman of the PLP fails’ to realize is that the chairman of the Free National Movement (FNM) does not have the time nor inclination to follow his ‘dog and pony’ show, whose only purpose is to turn lying and petty politics into an art form.

There is the saying that a ignorant person will lower you their level and beat you with experience; the chairman of the PLP needs to realize that most the country really do not have the time to follow his foolish lead, much less the chairman of the Free National Movement (FNM).

This is the year; all games will stop.

My Morning Paper – December 18, 2020 – Putting the Toothpaste Back into The Tube

The nonsense coming from the Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) as they attempt to convince the country that the leader of the opposition is not somehow involved in the dealings of Peter Nygard would be laughable if they were not so deeply rooted in hypocrisy and duplicity – is this the way that they promise to run the country, if God forbid, they were to win the next general election.

The chairman of the opposition Senator Fred Mitchell, says and I quote; “May we again try to put it into the thick sculls of the FNM Chairman and Prime Minister that Philp Brave Davis has nothing whatever to do with the events alleged in the complaints against Peter Nygard.

Nada.”

While the good chairman would prefer people to take him at his word I most certainly cannot because there is a court document, the very same complaint that he refers to, that contradicts his assertion of innocence on behalf of the leader of the opposition.

A complaint filed in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York; that names Peter Nygard, Nygard Inc., Nygard International Partnership and Nygard’s Holdings Limited, as defendants, with the Plaintiffs being “Jane Does, 1-10, individually and on behalf of all others similarly  situated.”

So for the good chairman to state that “Philip Brave Davis has nothing whatever to do with the events alleged in the complaint against Peter Nygard” is a matter that still needs to be explained away by the leader of the opposition or investigated to the fullest extent of the law.  Now some may say that the chairman is correct in his assertion but I ask what did Davis know and when did he know it and exactly what do these allegations of bribery refer to?

Was he being paid to “look the other way” and encourage others to “look the other way”; the country deserves the answers to these questions that arise from the allegations in this complaint.

Recently, Peter Nygard has been taken into custody and indicted with some of the crimes as alleged in this complaint, let there be a clear understanding that while the indictment may or may not have arisen from this complaint or subsequent lawsuit, the new legal actions now taken against Mr. Peter Nygard does not negate the allegations against the leader of the opposition as mentioned above.  To even suggest as much is to put forth a lie but it has been done and will continue to be done in order to put the proverbial toothpaste back into the tube in an effort to save the political life of the leader of the opposition.

This within itself it hypocritical and duplicitous if we are going to follow the standard set by the Progressive Liberal Party  (PLP) itself when it asked for the resignation of one K. Peter Turnquest over allegations of fraud.

The opposition Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) seems to be giving as a preview of how they would govern with Philip ‘Brave’ Davis as leader; with an extremely jaundiced view of the application of the laws of The Bahamas, oddly it does not seem to be that much different than the way that the ‘old’ PLP governed.

The Progressive Liberal Party fails for one reason, it is within their nature.

My Morning Paper – November 21, 2020 – Crime Of Allegations

This past week the leader of the opposition was heavily criticized for the state of one of the airports in Cat Island.  While he was busy deflecting with the nonmedical excuse of, do not worry about what I did or not do, just fix it; along came a story seeming to implicate the deputy prime minister, the Hon. K. Peter Turnquest in an alleged scheme to defraud an investor of millions of dollars.

“Turnquest denies conspiracy claim “– The Tribune

Excerpt from this article: “The deputy prime minister last night branded claims that he ‘conspired’ to defraud Sky Bahamas financer of almost $27m in sham loans as ‘categorically false’.

K. Peter Turnquest hit back at allegations levied by two companies controlled by Fred Kaiser, a Canadian businessman with whom he previously enjoyed a long and close relationship, by saying that he was ‘appalled’ his name was being dragged into a dispute with another ‘former business partner’.

That business partner is Captain Randy Butler, chief executive of Sky Bahamas, which was forced to cease flying last year after the Bahamas Civil Aviation Authority refused to renew the air operator certificate that was required to carry fee-paying passengers.  Mr. Turnquest though, noted that he is not named as a defendant in Mr. Kaiser’s statement of claim – only Captain Butler.”

Despite the fact that the deputy prime minister is not named as a defendant in the court papers of this alleged conspiracy claim, it seems that he has already been tried and convicted by many, including the opposition; Progressive Liberal Party (PLP).

Excerpt from the Philip Brave Davis, Leader of the Progressive Liberal Party on PM’s Silence In The Peter Turnquest Scandal”

Released November 20th 2020

Excerpt from this article; “It is now day two since the Progressive Liberal Party laid in Parliament a writ of summons alleging a 20 million dollar by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance.  The Prime Minister has not said a word.  The Deputy Prime Minister’s statement was arrogantly dismissive and missed the point of good governance entirely.

First, the Prime Minister must be reminded that he has a duty to act when his ministers refuse to take the honorable course.”

Exactly what is the “honorable course” in this case Mr. Leader of the Opposition? As it would appear that you have assumed the deputy prime minister guilty based on court papers that do not even name him as a defendant; so it must be a case of guilty by association, so we will go by the standard that you have set.

I will now reference the court document entitled;

“UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT FOR THE SOUTHERN STATE OF NEW YORK

JANE DOES 1-10, INDIVIDUALLY AND ON BEHALF OF ALL OTHERS SIMILARLY, SITUATED

(PAN TIFF)

VS

PETER J. NYGARD ,  NYGARD HOLDINGS INTERNATIONAL PARTNERSHIP, AND NYGARD HOLDING

(DEFENDANT), items 125-126 inclusive state; :Nygard was also close with Deputy Prime Minister Philip “Brave” Davis and regularly met him and paid bribes to him and his political aides.”

Now while the leader of the opposition is not named as a defendant in these court proceedings, at this point a very serious allegation is made against him.  While Mr. Nygard is being accused of human trafficking, sex trafficking and the transport of under aged females for the sex trade, one must question exactly what was Mr. Davis was being paid bribes for.

Exactly what did he know and when did he know it?

To date these allegations against Mr. Davis have gone unanswered but yet he not only demands answers of K. Peter Turnquest about a writ that he is not named in, he goes on to demand his resignation.

Let me say that this is not a case or argument being made of “just because they did it, why not let it go now’, but rather a call for fair play and equitable application of the rules and standards.

K. Peter Turnquest is a grown man and only a part of the Free National Movement (FNM), this is to say that the organization can go on without him.  I just ask that while we are calling for a ‘pound of flesh’, especially side opposite, I would like to suggest that we exact this very same blood lust upon the persons within that very same organization who seems equally guilty of the same crime of “allegations”.

My Morning Paper – October 26, 2020 – God Does Not Like Ugly

“Acting like God

  • Bishop flays Minnis from pulpit
  • Accuses MPs of being spineless.” – The Nassau Guardian

Excerpt from this article; “In a fiery sermon that was widely circulated on social media yesterday, Mount Tabor Church Bishop Neil Ellis railed against Prime Minister Dr. Hubert Minnis and his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, accused him and their members of his Cabinet of having a god complex and slammed members of Parliament as a ‘spineless’ group of men and women who refuse to demand accountability from Minnis.

Linking his assessment of the prime minister’s performance to scripture, Ellis said, ‘You’ll see in text that while feeling the success and the weight of his power, and caught up in an exaggerated sense of his own self-importance, Nebuchadnezzar, the head of Babylon, developed what Dr. Tony Evans calls a theo ego; theo means God.  Ego is mindset.”

In a sermon that seemed more political than about spreading the word of God, Bishop Neil Ellis then went on to say; “Don’t just come, ‘I want an extensions for another month ‘, hook, lock and sinker, all of your men and women vote for it.  How dare you all.”  Here the good Bishop seems to suggest that the lockdowns are at the fancy of the prime minister/ [Competent Authority] and are without reason or merit but even those less “intelligent” than the Bishop knew that with the rising numbers of COVID-19 numbers in the country that a lock-down may have been coming to make an attempt to mitigate the spread of this pandemic.  So, for the good Bishop to suggest otherwise either is a lie from the pulpit to evoke emotion of rage from his congregation or is plain ignorance on his behalf.

You would have thought that the good Bishop would have stopped there but then he goes on; “Ellis said, ‘You’re insulting our intellect and parading on our democracy and sidelining our right of movement and humiliating our business owners and entrepreneurs.  Your one-man stand is killing our economy and it sure does not help when the one in the chair does not believe in God.”  At this point it just gets plain “ugly” because the good Bishop has already sidelined the true reason for the extension and exactly how does a man of God get up in the pulpit and condemn someone of not believing in God; how does he know this man’s heart?  I have seen some supporters of the Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) try to walk back this disgraceful and irresponsible comment by attempting to say that the good Bishop actually meant another person but the person whose name they call is in no “chair” to be considered a “one-man stand”.

The good Bishop even at one point went on to label the prime minister as a “dictator’, let us bear in mind this is the very same man that once advised his congregation to either vote PLP or leave.  As the good Bishop make this very strong recommendation is the good Bishop also suggesting that our Lord God only sees the souls of PLP supporters worthy of salvation or is the Bishop that political that he believes that persons that do not support the Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) are not worthy of his sanctuary and his words of salvation?

These remarks were very “ugly” and God does not like ugly and the good Bishop should be very mindful of this fact.  I am sure that at some point that the good Bishop will come out and try to walk these comments back but they are already out there.  Yes good Bishop your true heart is on display for all to see.

My Morning Paper 10th October 2020 – If Not For Self, Then For Country

“Baha Mar waiting on Bahamians to kick virus – Resort president says no opening until COVID-19 numbers drop” – The Nassau Guardian

Excerpt from this article; “Baha Mar President Grame Davis said yesterday the resort cannot open until COVID-19 numbers in The Bahamas are lowered and urged Bahamians to do their part in making this happen.

Asked if he anticipates that the resort will open this year, Davis said, ‘I certainly hope so.  It really depends on everyone doing their job in The Bahamas to get COVID out and get us down to a very low level that’s manageable.

‘And there are statistics that show it can be done.  There are countries around the world that have kicked it out completely, much larger countries than we are.  So, I know it’s possible and I encourage everyone to do their part.’

Davis added, ‘Let’s take it seriously.  We’re currently right now on the State Department’s, we’re on a level four warning [that says] do not travel to The Bahamas.

‘….Right now in the state of New York’s state of emergency orders, The Bahamas is listed as a country where you need to quarantine [for] 14 days upon return from a vacation.

‘All of these are impediments to travel.

‘And so, we need to make sure we get our levels very low here in The Bahamas and we can control the virus so we can get to a state that we are ready to open.  And that would certainly help our economy.”

We have recently gone into another lockdown to mitigate the spread of the COVID-19 virus and many persons are not pleased about the lockdown and I await those that again threaten to sue the government over their basic civil rights to free movement but while we have a moment to think a bit I ask if we are not going to do it to help our very selves; are we willing to make certain sacrifices to help the country at large?

The opposition has already stated empathically that they are not willing to make such sacrifices to help the country at large and do not support any measures that would help to lower the numbers of COVID-19 cases.

“Davis: New restrictions meant to punish Bahamians” – The Nassau Guardian

Excerpt from this article; “Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) leader Philip Brave Davis said yesterday the new measures announced by the prime minister to curb the spread of COVID in The Bahamas are meant to punish Bahamians.

‘I think it’s an act of punishment,’ Davis said at a press conference.

‘It feeds into the narrative that Bahamians are not co-operating and I share a different view.  The measures are coercive.  Coercion is not the way.  Seeking to get co-operation is the way, in my view.”

Anytime the leader of the oppositions utters the words; “I think”, I just know we are in for some brand new hokum and he did not fail on delivering, actually the only thing that he has been able to deliver on constantly.

I ask the leader of the opposition, at which point has the government, not asked the citizens of the country to co-operate because if he is implying that it was never done then I suggest that he is not being truthful with the citizens of the country.

I would further suggest that what the leader of the opposition labels as ‘coercion’ is a very difficult decision by the leader of the country.  This also suggests that the leader of the opposition is unwilling to make such difficult decisions; if by miracle he were to be prime minister – we do not need this.

But indeed the only way forward is by the lowering of numbers of those effected to a manageable le number, as was done under the first wave, so that we can return to some sort of normalcy but this will have to be a new normal wherein these safety protocols become a way of life until a safe vaccine is found.

The country needs to open back up, the country’s economy needs to be opened back up but we cannot do any of this with raising COVID-19 cases.  So if you really do not care about yourself, are you willing to do it for your country?
