I found it simply amazing this past week that as Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) senator Fred Mitchell sought to suggest that Dame Joan Sawyer was seeking to remain relevant, he at the same time had the news ‘on lock’, complaining about each and everything that he seemed to be able to dream up.

Senator Fred Mitchell went from a ‘war of words’ with Dame Joan Sawyer over the perceived ‘inhumane’ treatment of several former PLP Cabinet ministers to criticizing the verification system for all government employees to announcing a protest of sorts on the anniversary of Sir Lynden’s death in a call for ‘Justice and Fair play’, this also regarding the recent arrests of former members of the PLP Cabinet on allegations of bribery and extortion.

All of this seemed to have woken his colleague Wayne Munroe QC from his slumber as he figured he just be being outdone by Senator Mitchell, as for weeks he has promises to produce to a list of allegedly corrupt members of parliament from the Free National Movement (FNM); some from the present administration and some from the previous administration, but there seems to be some confusion within his mind as to why he has not produced this list yet.

Excerpt from this article; “Attorney Wayne Munroe said yesterday he has not passed onto the authorities the list of names of FNM’s he claims ought to be investigated.

‘Some of the material is more notorious than others,’ he told The Nassau Guardian.

‘It’s not a matter [where] on Monday we are going to stand up and say we have summons for seven people.

‘We may well conclude what is necessary to proceed on two of them, then in a period of time, conclude what is necessary to proceed on others.’

He did not reveal the individuals at the center of his research.

In July Munroe said he was compiling a list of alleged questionable conduct by members of the FNM, which he said he will present to the new anti-corruption unit.

Munroe later indicated that he did not trust authorities to act on the allegations.”

This back and forth and indecisiveness is exactly what makes people begin to doubt your seriousness and your credibility and at this time, it is my opinion that Wayne Munroe is doing more harm than good to his credibility by playing this ‘game’; if you have a list of names them turn them over and if the anti-corruption unit does not act then you have reached a point wherein you can then have a reason not to trust them but to not trust that they will act on the information is an asinine excuse not to produce it; unless of course you have no information or just are unable to get the necessary evidence to back up your allegations because only an ignorant person would attempt to have persons investigated based on hearsay.

What I do not think Mr. Munroe appreciates is from the very moment he left the Democratic National Alliance (DNA) and joined the Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) and the reason as to why he did to the moment that he basically told a segment of the population to ‘kiss his ass”, he has been losing political credibility and he must also appreciate that up to these two instances he really did not have that much political capital in the first place.

As Attorney Wayne Munroe explained as to why he joined the Progressive Liberal Party, he said “….its philosophy is more inline’ with where he sees The Bahamas going.”  Indeed, the philosophy of the party may be more inline in where you would like to see the country go but if you see the party not adhering to these philosophies, then it makes one question either your political motives or political intellect or both.

Many a young mind, fill with zeal has joined the Progressive Liberal Party, drawn in by the philosophies of the party, only then to find out that they have lost their way and are not ‘the peoples party’ as ‘advertised’. 

So Attorney Wayne Munroe still seeks to prop up the Progressive Liberal Party with the ‘weight’ of his very own diminishing credibility, as he seeks to conduct a ‘with hunt’ into the Free National Movement (FNM), a task that he seems to be unable to produce the ‘goods’ on..Always wanted to use the Progressive Liberal Party’s new buzz phase…”witch hunt’…probably stolen from President of the United States Donald Trump, good example to follow.
